Position Available: Director, Radio Programming Operations, Dallas


Overview:

Dallas based Radio Network, Reach Media, Inc is seeking an experienced Director, Radio Programming Operations to provide assistance with managing operations for syndicated programming including the Tom Joyner Morning Show, The DL Hughley Show and Get Up! In the Mornings with Erica Campbell.   

Candidate will assist the VP, Operations & Programming with managing day to day broadcast operations, provide technical & production support and personnel supervision for Dallas based syndicated programming. 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with managing the day to day broadcast operational elements for Dallas based syndicated programming.
  • Assist with maintaining technical & IT infrastructure and issue resolution for Dallas based syndicated shows
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining syndicated finances including budgets, forecasts, accruals, invoice coding/approval, etc for the Dallas market.
  • Manage and facilitate SharePoint Site for all Dallas based shows to ensure all content is categorized, posted and archived.  Responsible for monitoring regular IT maintenance to ensure workflows are properly functioning.
  • Work with legal to construct/review contest rules and various contracts.
  • Prepare talent ratings bonus reconciliations (if applicable). 
  • Work with Ad Sales to coordinate NTR opportunities for syndicated programming for Reach Dallas. 
  • Provide various production support as needed.
  • Work with Affiliate Relations regarding station requests and remote broadcasts. 
  • Serve as back-up to Executive Producers for vacant positions/current vacations/ holidays as needed.
  • Load Network Inventory for Dallas syndicated programs. 
  • Assist as needed to coordinate interview opportunities with Syndicated Program Executive Producers.
  • Work with Sales Services to provide airchecks, contesting information, voice over requests and client interviews coordination with Syndicated Executive Producers.
  • Work with Syndicated Executive Producers to ensure programming and operational best practices are implemented as it pertains to post logs, discrepancy reports, weekend shows, affiliate liners, and special requests.
  • Manage delivery posting of Syndicated Program Demos to internal and outside partners.
  • Assist with coordination of LIVE remote/in studio broadcast requirement for Dallas Syndicated Talent/Programs.
  • Work with Dallas Syndicated Executive Producers on generating and researching ideas, topics and guest(s) for studio and on- location broadcasts.
  • Review network tones reports for Dallas Syndicated Programs.
  • Oversee development and updates for Dallas Syndicated Programming Back Up Shows for Satellite Provider.
  • Supervise administrative and production staff including performance, timesheet and PTO approval, scheduling, etc.
  • Provide additional responsibilities as requested by Executive Management.

Requirements:

  • Extremely organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks while being attentive to details.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills to work in a diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge of basic audio editing equipment.
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed in order to support syndicated show(s) demands. 
  • High level of creativity and ability to develop show concepts.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and the Internet.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.   

Experience/Education:

  • BA/BS college level degree in broadcasting or relevant field.
  • Prior broadcast experience (network preferred), preferably in management. 
  • Familiarity with Reach Media syndicated programs. 

 

Compensation:

 

Salary is commensurate with experience. No relocation provided.
