Position:                     Executive Producer, QuickSilva Show

Overview:

Syndicated Network targeting the African-American community is seeking an Executive Producer for the QuickSilva syndicated radio show.    

Candidate will be responsible for the day to day technical operations including content, audio & production, board operations, commercial logs, and troubleshooting as well as implementing program strategy as directed by the Program Director for the QuickSilva show.  

Position is based in Silver Spring, MD.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compelling content of the broadcast is delivered over the radio, the internet and other mobile platforms.
  • Collaborate with talent, management, production and engineering in order to plan and execute all aspects of the show.
  • Ensure that the show content is topical and well researched.
  • Utilize all social media platforms available to engage listeners.
  • Schedule and prepare guests to be interviewed by the host(s).
  • Responsible for all aspects of audio board operations for show.
  • Collaborate with talent and production staff to produce audio elements to brand daily radio shows.
  • Assist engineering with troubleshooting technical problems relating to show equipment.
  • Assist in producing Programming packages as needed for show.
  • Load the Audio Vault Wide Orbit with all files needed to run show including music, jingles, sound effects, interviews, and comedy bits.
  • Prepare and ensure daily program commercial logs air appropriately for show.
  • Import commercials to Broadcast computer at scheduled times.
  • Set-up Remote Broadcast as directed for show including booking studio time; insuring staff at each studio; setting up broadcast equipment testing with corresponding engineers and operating board during broadcast.
  • Provide creative imaging services including voice ID’s, promos, pre-recorded shows, and special production for show.
  • Produce daily show promos and bulk send to radio station affiliates.
  • Prepare “best of” show when needed. 
  • Assist in preparing remote broadcast budgets for show.
  • Adhere to all guidelines, policies and procedures of the station, the FCC and all other federal and local laws.
  • Attend scheduled meetings with Program Director to develop and implement short and long-term strategies. 

 

Requirements:

  • Extremely organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks while being attentive to details.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills to work as part of a team in a creative and diverse environment.
  • Creative problem solving to make spontaneous decisions under time constraints.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure situations. 
  • Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge of basic audio editing equipment-Audio Wide Orbit, Adobe Audition, MCart technology and VoxPro to quickly and effectively screen calls.
  • Strong understanding of the digital environment including website updates, video editing, blog maintenance and contributing to social media content (i.e. Facebook , Instagram, Twitter, etc).
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed in order to support show demands.
  • High level of creativity and ability to develop show concepts.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft based and Apple based computers.
  • Ability to travel as needed for remote broadcasts.

Experience/Education:

  • High School Diploma or education degree (GED).  BA/BS college level degree preferred and/or a minimum of 1 year relevant experience in broadcasting or related field.
  • Strong understanding of all FCC rules and regulations. 
  • Network experience preferred but not required.

Compensation:     Competitive salary based on qualifications/experience.

Location:          Silver Spring, MD.  No relocation will be provided.

Reports To:         VP, Programming – Radio One
