Digital Content Producer, & Reach Media Digital Properties


Syndicated Network targeting the African-American community is seeking a Digital Content Producer, & Reach Media Digital Properties to manage writing and editing content for and other Reach Media properties.

In addition, candidate will responsible for content curation, editing and posting of audio, video and photos as well as transcripts and sharing content through social media and databases.

Position is located in Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generate real time content on BlackAmericaWeb and other Reach Media properties (6:00AM – 3:00PM EST) as assigned throughout the day, including photo gallery creation and social media.
  • Work directly with Managing Editor, Reach Media to develop and post content that supports on air and online projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide proofing, editing and copy writing support for editorial content.
  • Post audio and video files as directed on syndicated websites.
  • Write original articles for posting on and digital properties when applicable in a time-sensitive fast pace environment.
  • Produce customized postings for various social media platforms daily supporting overall editorial and marketing goals.
  • Participate in various website maintenance duties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diversified group of individuals.
  • Flexible and able to react positively to challenge and change.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a high- pressured environment.
  • Must be engrained with, and/or deep knowledge of, African-American music and culture.
  • Familiar with all websites that cover African-American news, entertainment, celebrity, gossip and events
  • Knowledge of how to publish to and maintain a site using a content management system (CMS), WordPress a plus.
  • Experience writing a variety of content styles for publishing including AP, editorial, and blog style.
  • Must be able to perform photo resizing as well as audio and video editing using programs including Adobe Photoshop, iMovie, and Sound Studio.
  • Ability to analyze metrics.
  • Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.
  • Social media savvy with experience using mobile apps, creating social content.
  • Current knowledge of interactive trends, best practices and digital experiences.
  • Must be highly organized and have excellent time management and execution skills – an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work independently.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Solid familiarity with HTML, Photoshop, digital video, digital audio a plus.


  • B.A./B.S. in Journalism, Communications or other relevant field or quantifiable job experience.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working in Interactive Media.
  • Understands and abides by all content rights of others and liabilities related to libel, plagiarism, and content ownership. 

Compensation:     Competitive salary based on qualifications/experience.
