Director, Affiliate Relations

Overview:

Syndicated Network targeting the African-American community is seeking a Director, Affiliate Relations for all Reach Media Syndicated products.  Candidate will be responsible for securing and maintaining affiliations for all products with a focus on new product sales.   

Position is available to Work From Home (WFH) but candidate must reside and work in the following states:  TX, GA, IL, FL or MD. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Secure and maintain affiliations for all Reach Media products, with focus on new products.
  • Negotiate new affiliate agreements and renewals in all markets, including inventory levels, contract length, fees, and compensation.
  • Create and maintain affiliate contact lists for new adds.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with station personnel, station and group owners and industry leaders.
  • Responsible for affiliate operations including initiating contracts, advisories, and related paperwork.
  • Monitor affiliate compliance including commercial clearances to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Ensure affidavits and proof of performance are completed and returned in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, able to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact proactively with staff, management, and affiliate personnel.
  • Familiarity with Reach Media programming and events.
  • Extensive knowledge of the broadcasting industry including markets, stations, owners, and trends.
  • Thorough understanding of Nielsen research and ratings and experience with 3rd party processor software such as Act I, Maximizer, etc.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years Radio or TV affiliate relations experience required.
  • Urban Radio background a plus.

Compensation:                       Competitive salary plus commission and bonus opportunity.
 
Reports To: Vice President, Affiliate Relations
