Position Available: Writer, The Morning Hustle
Overview:
Radio Network targeting the African-American community is seeking a Writer for the nationally syndicated, The Morning Hustle radio show. Candidate will be responsible for creating original and humorous content for morning show talent including dialogue, skits and other relevant material.
Position is based in Atlanta, GA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Write, develop and edit relevant content for morning show focusing on 18-49 audience.
- Create scenarios and generate possible responses and punchlines for hosts.
- Convert current events into topical conversation pieces.
- Research stories to pitch to cast for discussion.
- Create parodies and skits based on current events in urban pop culture.
- Write suggested responses to topics and scenarios for multiple cast members based on their character profiles.
- Create compelling captions for social media content.
- Collaborate with Digital Producer as needed/requested for social media posts.
- Excellent language and writing skills.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to work with diversified group of individuals.
- Strong imagination and understanding of creative writing skill components to produce original and funny content.
- Knowledge of urban pop culture.
- Familiar with all websites that cover urban news, entertainment, celebrity, gossip and events.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a high- pressured environment.
- Highly organized, motivated and confident in ability.
- Professional ability to take constructive criticism from team.
- Excellent time management with the ability to work independently.
Education:
- B.A./B.S. in Journalism, Communications or other relevant field or quantifiable job experience.
- Creative writing experience in media preferred.
Compensation: Salary based on talent and experience.
