gif/jpg - The .gif (Graphic Interchange Format) files are to be used only in Internet/intranet Web applications such as Microsft Office, Powerpoint and Web. They are not to be scaled or used in print applications.

eps - The .eps (Encapsulated Adobe) Postscript©) files are preferred for all printing applications where high-resolution postscript output is available. .eps files can be scaled to large sizes and be separated for spot or CMYK colors. Use this format only of you have a Postcript printer and capabilities. Programs that can be used are Adobe Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS, Quark Express, and Pagemaker...Most commercial print/design companies have the equipment and technology to work with EPS files.
